Leadership is Lonely

“Leadership is lonely,” the saying goes. I’m sure everybody experiences loneliness in different ways and at different times too. So we can all apply what we see in David in 1 Samuel 30:6. While David and his 600 men were away, raiders came and attacked the city they were staying in and took away their wives and children. And we read, “David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because all the people were bitter in soul, each for his sons and daughters. But David strengthened himself in the LORD his God.”

We must learn to strengthen ourselves in the LORD our God. Many of David’s Psalms show what this looks like.
